Featured in EMC Georgia Magazine, The Weekender is owned and operated by Oscar and Nancy Banks of Hog Hammock Community on Sapelo Island.  The accomodations consist of four bedrooms with communal kitchen and a three-bedroom unit.  Sapelo is rustic and peaceful.  Beaches stretching as far as the eye can see define the Sapelo Experience. Scattered across the island, visitors will see evidence of the island's settlement, including Reynold's Chocolate House cottage, a landing strip, old post office and ruins of several tabby-constructed structures dating back to plantation days. Guests may bring their own food and supplies. Guided public tours of the island are conducted by Oscar and Nancy, who are descendents of original inhabitants of Hog Hammock.

The quiet charm of the waterfront and fishing village of Darien is the best kept secret on the coast.  The High Tide Cottage, circa 1940, is one block from the boat ramp and the Darien River. The cottage was extensively renovated in 2007 with attention to detail in restoration of the heart pine floors to larger baths and large closets. There is a brick coastal courtyard for entertaining and enjoying the Five Moon outdoor kitchen.  The large bedrooms with king and queen beds and fine linens add to the cottage charme. Fully stocked kitchen, linens, and everything you need for enjoying the beauty of Darien is provided.  Rent by week, weekend, month, or season. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths. Private Island Retreat

Upon arrival at Eagle Island, Guest Services will conduct a brief orientation and then depart, leaving you and your guest(s) alone to explore and enjoy your very own private, ten-acre island! Eagle Island is accessible only by boat, which ensures the utmost privacy and anonymity.  Round-trip boat transportation is provided with each visit.

Eagle Lodge boasts all the modern conveniences and accessories including a state-of-the-art chef's kitchen stocked with kitchen wares, Direct TV, wireless internet, bed and bath linens, a commercial ice machine, and an outdoor fire pit. A six-person hot tub is ingeniously located in front of an outdoor fireplace on the 1500-square-foot, wraparound, screened porch.

Eagle Lodge comfortably sleeps twelve guests. There are two bedrooms with a queen bed in each; the loft has two twin beds that can be converted to a king. There is a 700-square foot master suite located on ground level with a queen bed and two sets of bunk beds (four beds total).

Coastal Maritime Lodge was built in 1875.  The orginal heart pine floors, stairs and roof rafters remain, while the newly constructed 4,000-square foot 4 1/2 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath and 5 fireplaces help create this one-of-a-kind historic coastal lodge.  The lodge is finely decorated using local maritime decor. A must-see salvaged maritime treasure is the old Spanish anchor from the 1800's that is now the chandelier in the entryway. 

Coastal Maritime Lodge is located on First Street in historic downtown Darien, one block from the boat ramp and the Darien River.  The lodge has wireless internet, along with a media room complete with a TV and games.  The great room seating area has a wood burning fireplace and a 50-inch flat screen TV, as well as a DVD player and surround sound system.  The outdoor kitchen and front porch have speakers with volume control.  All bed and bath linens and robes are provided.  Five bikes and a kayak are provided for use by guests.  4 1/2 bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, media room, library, chef's kitchen, and Five Moon Oudoor kitchen for coastal cooking.  (14 guests maximum or a romantic lodge for two)
